SIMARA AI Limited is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose your information when you use our website and services at https://vedara.me(the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not consent, please do not access or use the Service.

  • Birth details you choose to provide — date, time and place of birth — which we use solely to calculate your Vedic birth chart and generate personalised guidance
  • Push notification subscription identifier (only if you enable mobile notifications)
  • Payment and billing information, processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card details)
  • Usage information about how you interact with the Service (pages viewed, features used)

How We Collect Your Information

  • Directly from you, when you register an account, enter your birth details, make a purchase, or contact us
  • Automatically, when you interact with the website (see our Cookie Policy)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect about you for the following purposes:

  • Creating and managing your user account
  • Calculating your birth chart and providing personalised astrological guidance
  • Processing payments and fulfilling purchases
  • Providing customer support
  • Sending administrative information about the Service
  • Marketing and promotional communications, where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law

Push Notifications

If you enable mobile notifications, we store a push subscription identifier linked to your account. This identifier allows us to deliver notifications to your device when your daily guidance is ready. It is deleted when you disable notifications, sign out, or delete your account. No notification content is stored on the server after delivery.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contracts that restrict use to the purpose for which it was shared:

  • Hosting and infrastructure (Vercel)
  • Product analytics (PostHog)
  • Payment processing (Stripe)
  • Transactional email delivery (SMTP2GO)

We require these providers to use the personal information we transfer to them only for the purpose for which it was transferred and not to retain it longer than required to fulfil that purpose. Where a provider processes data outside the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

We may also disclose your personal information: (1) to comply with applicable law, regulation, court order or other legal process; (2) to enforce your agreements with us, including this Privacy Policy; or (3) to respond to claims that your use of the Service violates any third-party rights. If SIMARA AI Limited is merged with or acquired by another company, your information will be one of the assets transferred to the new owner.

Retention of Your Information

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, and for between 90 days and 2 years after an account becomes idle, or for as long as we need it to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected as detailed in this Privacy Policy. We may need to retain certain information for longer periods, such as record-keeping or reporting required by applicable law, or for other legitimate reasons like enforcement of legal rights and fraud prevention. Residual anonymous information and aggregate information, neither of which identifies you (directly or indirectly), may be stored indefinitely.

Your Rights

Depending on the law that applies to you (including UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data; receive a copy of your personal data; restrict or object to the processing of your data; ask us to port your personal information to another entity; withdraw any consent you have provided; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
